Intensive Moscow's Attacks Eliminate Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water systems, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and applying restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes succeed nights of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
